Xado Racing 10W40 vs. Xado Red Boost 10W40: Which one is better?

When it comes to oil for motorcycles and manual-clutch bikes, Xado Racing 10W40 is impossible to leave out. It’s the lubricant known for punchy, smooth performance on both highways and city streets, and it stands out for protecting and even restoring your engine while the bike is running. Recently, though, a new product from Xado has arrived in the Vietnamese market: Xado Red Boost 10W40, built around the upgraded Atomic Revitalizant engine-restoration technology and TBN Boost technology. So which one is the better choice? Let’s break it down together with Xado Vietnam in the article below.

Brand and origin

Both Xado Racing 10W40 and Xado Red Boost 10W40 come from the XADO brand. XADO is a leading international name specializing in products that protect, maintain, and improve the performance of engines and mechanical parts. Founded in 1991 in Ukraine, XADO is best known for its proprietary Revitalizant technology, which regenerates and restores worn metal surfaces, extends service life, and boosts engine performance. The brand also offers a full lineup of premium engine oils, additives, cleaning solutions, and maintenance products, all built on advanced technology for the best possible results. XADO is now available in many countries around the world and is trusted across a wide range of industries, from automotive and marine to heavy industry.

Base oil composition

Both Xado Racing 10W40 and Xado Red Boost 10W40 are Fully Synthetic oils, formulated with Ester and PAO (Polyalphaolefin) base oils. This combination delivers optimal performance and engine protection, making them well-suited to the demands of modern vehicles. Specifically, they:

  • Strengthen engine protection with an exceptionally durable lubricating film that minimizes friction and wear, extending engine life.
  • Improve thermal stability even under extreme temperatures, lowering the risk of failure and increasing longevity.
  • Stay compatible with many of the materials inside the engine, such as gaskets, seals, and rubber components, keeping everything running smoothly.
  • Improve additive solubility, so the additives in the oil work more effectively.
  • Reduce volatility and extend the oil’s service life.

That said, Xado Red Boost 10W40 also contains an LSPI (Low-Speed Pre-Ignition) additive, which helps prevent low-speed pre-ignition and the knocking that can occur when accelerating at low engine speeds, a common issue in modern turbocharged engines. It also helps extend the life of modern high-compression engines.

The technology

Xado Racing 10W40 uses REVITALIZANT® engine-restoration technology. Xado Red Boost 10W40, on the other hand, is equipped with the upgraded version of Revitalizant, ATOMIC REVITALIZANT® (AR). It doubles the concentration of nanoparticles and accelerates the formation of metal ceramics by 2.75 times compared with the previous generation, delivering complete protection for all types of modern internal-combustion engines, including high-performance hybrids.

Beyond that, Xado Red Boost 10W40 also features TBN Boost technology, which stabilizes the alkalinity index under high temperatures. This keeps engine performance consistent under heavy loads while extending oil-change intervals, helping you save on maintenance costs. That matters a great deal for vehicles operating in tough conditions, such as racing bikes or off-road machines.

Both products share the same SAE 10W-40 viscosity grade and the same API SN, JASO MA/MA2 quality standards, and both suit today’s 4-stroke motorcycles, from underbone bikes to manual-clutch models such as the Exciter, Winner, Raider, CBR1000, Sirius, Jupiter, Future, Wave, and more.

There are only two differences between them: the viscosity index and the engine restoration factor. Both of these numbers are higher on the Xado Racing 10W40 than on the Xado Red Boost (175 > 166, and RF 22.2 > RF 10.5).

The engine restoration factor is the percentage ratio between the volume of Revitalizant (the engine-restoring active ingredient) in the oil and one standard Revitalizant unit (27ml). According to the manufacturer, Xado Racing 10W40 contains 6ml of Revitalizant (equivalent to one tube of Xado EX120), so the restoration factor is calculated as (6 / 27) * 100% = 22.2%. That result is exactly the RF 22.2 figure printed on the Xado Racing 10W40 can. The same formula applies to Xado Red Boost 10W40.

On the flip side, thanks to its lower VI, Xado Red Boost feels more responsive and delivers better fuel economy. However, when the engine is running at high temperatures, Xado Red Boost 10W40 won’t run quite as smoothly as Xado Racing 10W40.

So overall, Xado Racing 10W40 offers higher viscosity, runs more smoothly at high temperatures, and provides stronger engine-restoration capability than Xado Red Boost 10W40.

Pricing

On price, Xado Racing 10W40 has a listed retail price of 420,000 VND, which is 20% higher than Xado Red Boost 10W40 at 350,000 VND. The clearest factor behind this gap is the amount of Revitalizant engine-restoring active ingredient in each product. As mentioned above, Xado Racing 10W40 contains 6ml of Revitalizant, equivalent to one tube of Xado EX120, which retails at a listed price of 250,000 VND. Xado Red Boost 10W40, by contrast, contains only 2.835ml of Revitalizant, roughly 53% less. This is just one of several factors that influence the price of the two products.

In summary, both Xado Racing 10W-40 and Xado Red Boost 10W-40 are premium lubricants from the XADO brand, well-suited to 4-stroke motorcycles, and especially to underbone bikes, manual-clutch bikes, and racing bikes. For the best, most comfortable riding experience, though, the key is to choose the product that truly matches how you ride.
