The Effectiveness of XADO Ceramic-Metal Technology

I. What the technology delivers

  • Repairs worn metal parts, restores technical performance and upgrades the quality of machinery and vehicles, all while they are running.
  • Increases service durability two to three times over.
  • Raises efficiency by 5 to 25%.
  • Saves 5 to 30% on fuel and 7 to 34% on electrical energy.
  • Cuts repair and technical-maintenance costs by 30% or more.
  • Sharply reduces vibration and noise, so the machine runs light and smooth.
  • Reduces the harmful emissions of internal combustion engines by 2 to 10 times.
  • Saves 3 to 10 times the time.
  • Simple, easy to use and low in cost.

II. An Analysis of XADO’s Effectiveness

1. Results under the conventional repair method

We can analyze XADO’s effectiveness in the case where it is used as a restorative repair method, correctly and within its recommended scope. That lets us take the results of the existing repair method as a basis for comparison.

In the traditional way of doing things, repairing a machine means shutting it down, dismantling the parts suspected of damage, inspecting them, reconditioning or replacing them, reassembling, running-in, checking the technical parameters, and releasing the machine. It calls for a workshop, plenty of technicians, machine tools for the repair work, replacement parts and materials, and enough time to complete the whole procedure. After repair, the technical parameters usually reach only 85 to 90% of the rated values, durability is unchanged and often lower than the original, which means the next repair interval is shorter than the last. Other indicators such as efficiency and fuel or energy consumption are no better, and often worse than at the start. If the reconditioned parts skip the strengthening step, or are poorly strengthened, the post-repair service life is shorter still. Pulling a machine apart for repair is very costly and time-consuming and disrupts production. These are the reasons the advanced industrial countries tend to retire machinery once it reaches a certain point; their replacement cycle runs 5 to 10 years, whereas here it is common to find machines 15 to 30 years old.

2. Results when machinery is repaired the XADO way

Using XADO needs no workshop, no shutdown and no dismantling. The technical parameters can reach the rated values and beyond. The machine consumes less fuel and energy because the assembly clearances can reach their optimum and the friction coefficient has dropped hundreds of times over. Durability rises two to three times because the areas that normally wear are all ceramic-metal coated. The repair interval after XADO can stretch to twice as long as before, or more, and in the great majority of cases machine efficiency matches or exceeds what it was. From this analysis it is easy to see XADO’s outstanding effectiveness: it delivers a double benefit, restoring the technical parameters to standard while increasing durability and lowering cost. Used within the right scope and at the right time, it readily keeps a machine in good condition, much like keeping a person in the prime of youth, for far longer. Durability is the number-one concern of any machine owner. In countries that adopted XADO early, such as Ukraine and Russia, the return in industry has been calculated at two to seven times the investment.

3. Examples

  • To carry out a major overhaul of the top-end assembly, gearbox, crankshaft, connecting rod, bearings and bushings in a 100cc motorcycle engine, you need to leave the bike with a mechanic for at least four to eight hours and spend no less than 300,000 to 500,000 dong, with no gain in durability or fuel economy over the original. With XADO you do it yourself, spend about half that, save an extra 10% on fuel on average, and end up with a bike that runs sweeter and far more durably, able to survive even a serious oil shortage or a total loss of oil.
  • In industry: take the dust-extraction fan bearing at a steel mill, mentioned under the XADO grease product. Treating it with XADO costs 30% of the price of a new one and lasts longer.
  • Figures from a motorcycle assembler in Ho Chi Minh City show that after adopting XADO, warranty and after-sales repair costs fell by more than 35%.

4. XADO must be used within its proper scope and at the right time to deliver its full effect

  • XADO reaches its high effectiveness only when it is used within its proper scope and according to the usage procedure. Using it while the machine is still running and not yet heavily worn is the most economical approach; the “Applications” section explains this in detail.
  • In practice there are cases that fall beyond XADO’s scope, such as machinery worn far past 100%, machinery with mechanical damage, or machinery with damage or wear in parts that XADO cannot restore. In these cases XADO alone won’t solve the problem and must be preceded by conventional repair.
  • No method is absolutely superior or free of limits. What matters is to judge the machine’s actual condition and choose the method, or combination of methods, that delivers the highest techno-economic result.

5. Using XADO on new machines to raise quality, achieve high strengthening and save cost — an urgent solution for many Vietnamese machine builders and assemblers

  • Machine makers all know that Vietnamese-made machinery falls well short of many countries’ in quality, even when the materials meet standard. Two pieces of farm equipment may look almost identical, but the Japanese one still runs well after a year or more, while many of ours need repair after three months. There are two main reasons: low precision and weak strengthening. Many parts makers apply only very ordinary strengthening methods, and some parts are merely polished. Precision suffers because of old, worn-out machine tools, and fixing this would mean investing in new technology and equipment, at great cost.
  • Even a new production line is not enough on its own without good strengthening technology. Normally, strengthening with cermet calls for thermal-spray coating processes such as detonation spray and plasma spray, which require specialized equipment and materials along with the technological know-how, all of it expensive.
  • In our particular circumstances, the problem can be solved quite completely as follows: make the parts from standard materials, assemble them into a machine, and apply XADO during the running-in stage in the workshop. It takes little time, a few dozen minutes is enough. Treat with XADO, and the result is precision and greater durability for the metal parts at the same time.

6. XADO around the world

XADO technology is in wide use around the world. It is patented in the United States, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, China, Australia, South Africa and elsewhere. The XADO group has general agents and branches in 32 countries, with a sales network spanning more than 50, and the XADO trademark is internationally registered and protected in more than 70 countries. Close to home, China, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia are using XADO too. Vietnamese consumers rate XADO products highly and are especially fond of the motorcycle range: XADO makes a motorcycle engine strong, smooth, quick to accelerate and durable, saving an average of 5 to 20% on fuel at a reasonable price while cutting repair-support costs.
